I don't know, but you should post this question in the Careers & Employment section. That's where all the HR people hang out and they will know the answer.

If you have either a Contract of Employment or a document such as an Employee Handbook, then it should be in there.

Actually there isn't such a thing as compassionate leave and your employer doesn't have to pay you for any time off you take. You can take dependents leave and again, its at the employers discretion whether you get paid. When my dad died in march, I took the day after he died off and got paid for it. I also got paid for the day of the funeral but was asked to work between his day of death and the funeral. I did take 4 days off after the funeral but again, was asked by my boss to return to work the next week - he relented and I got paid but he didn't have to.

It varies from company to company as to the time you can take off and get paid or not paid for it. You can look up the FMLA act, just Yahoo or Google it. If your company meets certain requirements. You can take up to 12 weeks and your/a job has to be there when you get back. Of course you don't get paid for any of this, and you might have to pay your employers portion of insurance premiums.

You all look somewhat fickle. None of those relationships look healthful...they are all majorly dysfunctional. in case you had any elementary sense, it would enable you realize that he would not understand what the hell he needs. If he did, he would not have had all of that backward and forward. Your elementary sense would additionally enable you realize that he will in no way be satisfied with you till he figures out what he needs. so some distance as i'm in contact, you the two circulate into relationships too with out delay and then quickly exchange your minds. Neither of you have any corporation being in relationships till your lives settle and you artwork out what you want. this style of backward and forward will perform a little extreme harm on your little ones. they want a stable existence. and you all are something yet.

I know in Michigan, you can take three days off with pay, and not have to use any vacation time. After that you have to use vacation time or time withOUT pay if your boss gives you the OK, but by law, they only HAVE to give you three days. Sorry for you lose.

After you use up any contractual or concessionary time, you could always see your doc and go sick if you genuinely are unable to cope.
Dont look at it as a right to time off, only as time needed to cope.
