I have removed water rings with mayonnaise, but I'm not sure what effects the alcohol had on the wood. Try putting some mayo on it, rubbing it into the wood and let it set for a few hours. Wipe it off with a clean dry cloth.

Lowe's carries a "white ring remover" in a small packet, typically on the cleaning Aisle or in the Paint Dept. It works excellent!

Using a soft dry cloth, rub the stain carefully with tooth paste, rinse with a damp cloth, dry it, and then, polish the area with a little bit of brown shoe polish. It works for me

buy some wood stain the same colour, and a small tin of varnish. get some fine 120 grade sandpaper and gently sand the circle and a bit of the surrounding area, then stain it and varnish. it may need a couple of layres of stain....but it will blend in well
