I totally agree, life Is all about MONEY,and how much you have ,or don't have. The Bible says that Greed will corrupt the earth near the end,I just wonder how much longer that we all have.....

Yes, daily life is very competitive. People are perpetually trying to spend their ways up the social hierarchy. The reason this occurs is because we constantly judge and categorize each other on sight first.
I think the reason it seems to have become even more prevalent, say in the past 30-40 years, is because we have become less of an interactive society and more of a society of individuals. Also we have a lot of excess Money to spend. So we spend it on cars, houses, breast implants, teeth whiteners, brand new clothes, etc. All the things that make us look like we are successful (and healthy).
I don't see how it will end, unless there is another depression like in the 1930's.

Yes, the world is controlled by greed and the lack of understanding of the true nature of life and our surroundings.
We are greedy money motivated beings who will be unable to stop global warming because of out veracity for the materialistic mostly crap that we produce.

I think the world is very materialistic and I've found myself falling into the same trap. Not so much for myself but for my 13-year-old son. I won't get him $80 jeans (he's growing too fast to keep clothes for too long), but I want him to fit in with his peers.

Not everyone is like that though. The things that cost the least are usually the most important in life. Those people you are describing are shallow & best avoided.

Yes it is. I think our world is based on a total facade. it seems like people can not be happy with who they are. They feel like they have to have this fake and un real so called perfect image to walk out their front door. Many people have forgotten to be happy with their natural beauty.

Too right it has! We have confused what we want with what we need, and in the process are leaving millions to starve. What a world! Shalom
