well since in am a truck guy i'd say ford because dodge trucks have transmission problems
but' you're asking about cars i'd still take the ford because my parents had a tauras it has over 200,000 miles on it before we got rid of it and the guy turned it onto a race car (Figure 8 Racing:Demolition)and rebuilt the engine and used it. dodge intrepids aren't bad if you are talking about the 2005 and up the old ones are ugly.
good luck

Well I have bopught a Intrepid - (1997) and at the time it was 3 years old and had 47,000 miles.
Now it has just turned 160,000 miles and still going strong.
This is a 3.3 litre V6 non-ES mosel.
Nice car for me having 3 small kids, and needing the room and the trunk is huge for all our stuff to go in.
After seeing my friend and his Ford Taurus going through all the brake problems, oil leaks, and alternator going bad like 3 times.
I would never own one of them. I am not sure how many miles are on his car, but I know it is no where near 150,000. And the head gasket just blew like 4 days ago.
He borrowed my Interpid to go get a price for the head fix - said he is now looking for a new car.

I want to say Ford but the Taurus sucks. I would get a Thunderbird or a Mustang those are the only good two cars they have. As for Dodge, that car isn't so bad. My uncle had one and it was pretty good. However, once it reaches 70,000 miles its down hill from there.

I've always driven and beat the crap out of dodges, BUT dodge made a HUGE mistake by phasing out the 3.3 and putting the CRAPPY 2.7 in the Intrepid. 2.7 is NOT good. FACT.

FORD, FORD, FORD!
I understand your feelings for those Intrepid are rather dazzling. Taurus' are a little overdone. How about a T-bird, now there's a classy ride!
