I had a six year relationship with my first boyfriend from 15-21. We did everything together, we even lived together from the age of 17. We had a passionate, up and down love, which I ended up leaving because I thought I should concentrate on my education instead of settling down and marrying so young.
I saw him again five years later, we had a passionate, wonderful vacation, but when it was time to go back to the city where I lived, I left again. Why didn't he ask me to stay? I wondered. Why didn't he take me by the hand, look me in the eye, and ask me to stay? Why didn't I just stay?
Fast forward to today, and he is still in my blood. We communicate by email, he says the reason he didn't ask me that day to stay was because he was so scared I would say no. He says he has never found another love like ours, but is married and has to take care of his wife for now, but says that things might change in the future because he cannot stop loving me, either. I need help with this!

If he really loves you then it should work out. Don't want to be depressing or anything but if he said he doesn't see you enough then he might use that as a reason to cheat if he is a jerk. Why is going out to get drunk if he knows what he is like when drunk and how it makes you feel? This guy doesn't sound very mature or considerate towards you. I would feel humbled to have someone who cares as much about making a relationship work as you. In my honest opinion i think he is going to forget you after a while because of the way he is and there will be too much temptation for him but i do hope that i am wrong...you deserve somebody better because he shouldn't even make you feel like this. Good luck

I'm sorry to tell you this....I don't think he will leave his wife, and you can't keep waiting to see if he decides to do so, that's not good for you, clearly he moved on by getting married and you should do the same.
Believe me, don't make the mistake of becoming "the other" that will only make you suffer

There are millions of people (like me) who can relate to your situation. However, he's married! You probably will never get him out of your heart. But for now, send just one more e-mail to tell him you must honor his marriage vows to his wife and that unless/until he's single, you will not communicate with him. Then don't!

I don't think anyone ever forgets the first love they have. But facts are facts, he is MARRIED it is now time for you to move on. You will be better off if you simply cut off all ties to this man. You don't want to hurt his wife do you? Find someone else to spend your time with. Life goes on. Move on it is time.

WOW!!! his wife is going to be so mad!!! Honestly, maybe you should take your focuss off of him, and concertrate on something better. Because if he still loves you, but he is married, then if one day you are married to him, then he could love some other girl. This is not good....

So...hypethetically-if you got back with him-and everything worked out, he left his wife and you guys started dating or got married...woudln't you feel like, he could leave you too one day? Once they cheat once, they sometimes cheat again.
I think you need to forget him and move on.
He IS married!!

To me, it looks obvious!
You 2 are still in love with each other!
I think it sounds like you guys had fun when you guys were dating so why don't you guys date again...

Trust me, nothing will go wrong.
