A few ex boyfriends come to mind... I used to defend when my mother said they were no good, and then I realized that they were no good.

As a matter of fact yes. A guy I new was getting a divorce and taking it pretty tough. He would cry on peoples shoulders and some of them would get irritated. I would always remind them or try to explain to them how hard a divorce could be until one day I bumped into this guy and I said good morning how are you and in stead of answering my question he immediately said "now do you know what so and so did?" I never defended him again.

Yup one of my ex best friends Steven. He is a raging alcoholic and I always stuck up for him because deep down he has a great heart, However I took him as my date to one of my friends wedding in which I was a bridesmaid. he was an absolute nightmare, He disrespected me in front of my friends, he humiliated me and was a complete and total ***. The thing is he was as usual drunk and doesn't take responsibility for his actions when he's drunk because he cant remember what he did half the time. I haven't spoken to him since. it is partly my fault for bringing him to the wedding with me.

When I was younger yeah....

Now that I'm older, not a chance, they have to prove it. May sound harsh but it's the truth.

And if I believe in you I will defend you to the death.

no. i have seen several people over the years defend certain person that i tend to think shady. then i sit back and wait. wait for the shadiness to slap them in the face. then they act surprised and i get to say i told you so.
