You mean as a blanket rule? You need to look at the qualities of the individual, not make a sweeping statement about an entire population based upon their geographical local or origins.

I am a Francophile. Spent last forty years holidaying in Europe visiting friends there. Lot of past Brit. history in France. People there seem as affectionate as any other race - Spanish, Italian or German.
Gone-off the French connection now - have a couple of Japanese cars and everything else seems to be made in China.

Like people all over the world, you get good and bad, generally speaking with the French they love French Kissing so yeah I guess they are affectionate.

I can not say all just a few i know
one guy will see me call my name way off and the next minute he would be kiss up my arm and down the other.
Another one will kiss my checks-both of them when we met any where
Then this french gal will come up to me and hug me.
