Hi. Today we parked on a retail car park which said 2 hours allowed. When we got back to the car there was a ticket on it which had been put there 2 mins after we left. The warden was there and I asked her why and she said cause we left the retail park and its not allowed. On closer inspection the sign says that "2 hours allowed on site longer if shopping"
On opening the ticket the actual ticket does not state date and time the 'envelope does' It has obviously not transacribed through.
Is this ticket valid? It is also missing car colour and the last digit of the reg.
Any advise
Ta

Shouldve added. We did leave the site but it wasnt clear that you couldnt. On another retail estate you are (or used to be will check next time) allowed 2 hours whereever you go.
I got the ticket for the fact I walked off the retail park even if it was only for 1 sec she said she'd have given me a ticket

There is no harm in writing to the company, stating your reasons for why you wish them to cancel the ticket. (There should be an address on the ticket). I doubt the reasons you give will be valid for them to cancel. Bearing in mind this will be a private company and you can bet your bottom dollar they will have every aspect covered. Good luck.

Sounds to me like an over zealous warden. Would she have given you a ticket if you'd been shopping on site and the nipped across the road or whatever to look in another shop? More to the point how did she know that after you left the car park you weren't coming back to shop at the retail park?
Traffic wardens eh? Dont ya just love em?

I don't no if the ticket is valid but if you have a receipt from the retail park just write to the company or council that issued with a copy of the receipt and argue the point that you never left the retail park. I have got out of loads of tickets loads of times.

And if a handicapped individual were good in the back of, the place might he/she have parked? Sorry, she occupied the gap, which she had no good to do. No excuses allowed, and have confidence me, the courtroom has heard all of them. that's a valid fee ticket and she or he will ought to pay it. She ought to have stopped added away, like different able-bodied human beings do, and the lot of you ought to have walked the greater few yards. And if there have been no different parking spots, which in many situations purely happens at Christmas, she could have dropped you off on the area street, or at a loading zone, I guess there became a form of.

Since they started giving "Traffic Wardens" performance related pay this sort of thing has become more and more common with the mistakes on the ticket, which is the legal document, I should think and hope that you have every good chance of disputing the ticket.

i would not worry about it, as you said the reg is not right, but i would write a letter to complain about the way the traffic warden was, also that he did not get the information right, traffic wardens can be really nasty for no reason, but from what i heard they get a bonus for every ticket issued, how true it is I'm not sure, but it would make sense, also contact your citizen advice office they are amazing, keep safe all the best

don't know from a legal point of view for sure. Tescos near us used to fine people for leaving the premises to pop to another shop, if they saw you leave they'd slap a ticket on your car, even if you were planning to come back and shop there a little later - they've stopped now not sure why though - perhaps not valid?

Any mistake on the ticket whether it be date, time, registration etc; makes the ticket invalid. Just ignore it as they do not have a leg to stand on. Even if you were wrong then so were they. They are supposed to know what is required by law.

if it is missing the last digit of number there are two things you can do:-
Forget about it, but keep a copy and if you get any correspondence send them a copy telling them you had it issued to your car but it obviously apply to a different vehicle as it has a different registration number
Write to them and tell them you got back to your car and this was on it but it obviously does not apply to your car as it has the wrong registration on it
Good luck!
