We are 5 months along and the other day we had our "anatomy" ultrasound. All along I said the baby was a girl. Low and behold, I am right. (Moms always know best). lol. Well as soon as he heard the sonographer say it's a girl and my echo of "I told you" in the back ground, he decided he didn't like Laila Marie as her name. Never before had he a problem with it.
What do you guys think about it. Is he nuts? I say he is. Laila Marie is awesome, not so common, and it flows. If you don't like the name... Even if you do, what are some other suggestions that aren't common and go with the middle name Marie? Thanks for your help!

Personally, he may be reacting more to the "I told you so" comment than the actual name! He may just be resistent to it because of this. I would honestly forego the "I told you so" in the future as it often has a bad reaction!
That being said, I really like Laila. I even like Laila Marie even though I really don't like the name Marie! (Marie feels like a default middle name like Ann, etc)
I think before you go off stressing about it, give it some time. He may be reacting to his hopes that he would have a son and the realization that this is a daughter. Let that sink in and make NO changes for a while. If he wants to discuss other names, then fine, listen to his suggestions, but make no absolute changes.
He will likely come around when he gets over the fact that this is his daughter not his son. Then you wouldn't have to change a thing and no stress in the meantime!

Hey dont worry so much of him not likeing the name. If you both picked it out together than there shoukd be no problem. But maybe when you said I told you so maybe he got mad about it so he was taking his anger out by saying he didnt like the name for his daughter. Just drop the name thing for a little while and go with the flow. Maybe in a couple weeks you can try sitting down and talking to him about it but give him time to think about it by-himself!!! In the long run before you baby is born you both will have a beautiful name for her. Also I think the name you picked is a really pretty name and isnt your middle name Marie too? Well thats cool. E-mail me with the name you choose. Give him time. Maybe he is nervous about having this baby and doesnt know how to tell you or show it. Tell him your nervous too if you are and maybe he will be totally honest about it with you. Have fun & Good luck.
