the internet would be the catalyst in my opinion. then the availability of cheaper, faster transportation of goods. it is in my opinion that globalization is the modern era's equivalent of the industrial revolution. now when you talk about moving things between long distances and true global commerce, its not that big of a deal anymore because its so readily done. crazy times!

You know those terms "First World" and "Third World" right? Well they used to have slightly different meanings, and there used to be a "Second World".
The First World was the U.S.A and it's Capitalist allies, Second the USSR and it's Communist allies, and the Third world were the neutrals.
When the Second world collapsed and the Cold War ended, the First World was looking only at allies and neutrals. This means that they had free reign to expand and increase influence in all nations around the world. Especially the Eastern Bloc of Europe (which they had been trying to access since the Blockade of Berlin).
Globalisation is the expansion of Capitalism unchecked by an opposing superpower.

The opening up of the economy and the removal of trade restrictions and barriers. Earlier these would go against globalisation. More over most of the countries today have bi-lateral relations with many countries and this further leads to globalisation.

I'm going to agree (almost) with qwerty.
Globalisation is a pure function of the radical improvement of communication.
You can trace it through history.
Successful businessmen were limited by the boundaries of their countries until the advent of, firstly, the telephone then telex, fax and now e-mail.
This means the economy is now truly 24/7 as trading can be continuous. With communications now unlimited, businesses can operate in different countries and still be in touch with the HQ wherever that may be in the world. There are no longer any geographic limits to where a successful business can expand to.

technologies: the flexibility to offer great quantity of issues in a small quantity of time; this created performance and productiveness which further approximately extra issues being produced and for this reason extra issues being fed on. extremely, the progression in techonology "unfastened commerce regulations": I positioned it in quotations because of the fact this theory of "unfastened commerce" would not save on with to all human beings it is why their international countries are third international countries. besides the undeniable fact that, those regulations that customarily save on with to improved countries have allowed the unfold of things with little barrieirs which includes tax and stuff. This then further approximately the supply of things to extra human beings. communication: the flexibility to talk with everyone everywhere has had a huge effect on globalization. all human beings is doing corporation with others 1000's of miles away. This finally ends up in extra jobs, extra products being produced, extra probability and improved economies. yea it is in basic terms off my concepts withiin like 5 min do a splash learn and amplify.......wish it helped peace
