My computer burned up in a power surge. A friend put Compaq parts in but I don't know a model number. How?

can I find the model number? The friend has long since discarded the original case. Asking him is not an option anymore.

Go to www.belarcadvisor.com , download the program and run it. It will tell you everything about your computer. Then yao can also print the results out,and you will always have it on hand.

if you open it up and find out the motherboard model, and processor model you might be able to find out what type of compaq it is.
