Since you have narrowed the choices of what won't work, why don't you tell us what will.

Actually 'we' don't know much about what's going on in Iran. I suspect that there, as here, they have factions and sub-factions...all at odds with each other. Also, we have no idea how our own current government is spinning the Iran story. We won't know until we have a new executive branch. After that policy will be formed to deal with the reality of that time. My feeling is that a new administration, Republican and particularly Democrat will be reluctant to make the mistakes that the Bush administration has made. Last, we don't know what the situation will be In Iran in 18 months. Either way, Iran isn't going to get away with anything nasty...let's just hope our actions don't make a bad situation worse.

What they do best TALK TALK TALK.an say nothing. Except when they wanted votes from the criminal illegal aliens An to sell the citizens the bill of goods on amnesty. I really don't know what the DEMS would do since they don't give much input on issues.Bash the REP=does that count??

let s think fairly
first,do we have the right to have nuclear weapons and others not ?you may say we are a democratic country but you must know that Ahamadi Nejad elected and choosed by the iranian people(NB we are not sure if the president Bush desereved to be a president or not ,do you remeber the votes of the last state)
second: we are a democratic country but we hit Japan with 2 nuclear bombs at the end of the war without the need to do this (Japan was going to surrender)and we donot know if any japanese generation in the future may take revenege or not.
third:we allow some other countries to have nuclear weapond and help them like INDIA and ISRAEL WHICH is dangerous on the world peace and flaming wars from time to time (it is a reason of the hatred of many nations to usa)
forth:we have a very bad foreign policy against many countries like Cuba,Venezuela, middle east, north korea.,do you think if we have a fair normal diplomatic relation with these countries including iran ,does anyone of the world would attack us ?look at Canada ,it has a good realtions with all nations ,there is no terrorrism against it
fifth:we always attack others which makes them going to the steps of revenge.so if we donot keep shaking Iran regime ,do you think iranians and they know well that we are the strng power ,may attack us??
at the time of the second world war ,all countries of world and nations was looking up to USA ,now with the wrong decisions ,supporting some dictators, bad forign relations with many countries .the situation is difficult and there must be a change in the US policy

Better than what Bush is doing right now. I'm not a Democrat but I think the next president will be tougher on Iran regardless of their party affiliation.

If, God forbid, it's Hillary, she will more than likely bring back Madeline Albright (who isn't really) to bring the Iranian to our way of thinking.
If it's Obama, he will form a smooth talking brotherhood with Iran. He will point towards the US, and with the best Tonto impersonation he can muster, say, "What do you mean us, white man ?
Are there any other candidates ?
Frankly, we should sell our national defense to the highest bidder, if a democrat takes office, because their isn't one in the whole gaggle of wannnabes who would defend this country, or know when to do so !

The question has always been, "What are Iran's intentions?" Iran claims it wants nuclear energy; we claim it wants the bomb. We have made demands that Iran submit to inspections and observers. Iran has refused due to issues of sovereignty.
This morning I read that Iran agreed to sumit to inspections. If that proves true, crisis over. Iran has the right to employ nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
As far as your claims and probabilities, did you have the same opinion of Iraq? The Bush Administration did.

If a Democrat wins the office, I guess we had better get our white flags out so that maybe they will not bomb us. The Dems will continue to talk to Iran, even though we all know it won't amount to anything.

It depends greatly on which Democrat is elected. If Barrack is elected he will probably assist them in obtaining nukes. Helping his Islamic brothers out. Also if he is elected Israel can kiss it's butt bye bye.
Now if Billary is elected, perhaps we could expect a pre-emptive strike on maybe a piano factory in the desert, that misses it's target and hits the French Emabassy ( hopefully!!!)
In any event, NOTHING of consequence will be done until it is too late and they have WMD's, and use them against Israel and or us.
THEN they will scream and blame everybody else but them selves for the problem.

Well, they want us out of Iraq even though Iraq and Afghanistan flank each side of Iran, so I'm not convinced they are even worried about Iran. Maybe they just think Ahmadinejad's threats are a 'bumper sticker'.
