If it is called a flowering plum tree, then probably not. That tends to mean that it is an ornamental tree, rather than a fruit tree.

Some trees are called flowering while some are called ornamental. This usually denotes non-bearing trees.

They generally don't but some do produce some fruit. Most often it dries up and falls off long before it could be harvested!
