my washing machine wont drain the water out, or go on to a spin cycle, my machine is under a year old, i also just had a new bathroom suite installed, and was wondering if the plumber has done something could this just be a coincidence as the machine was working fine until he was here

It won't spin until it has drained, seems like the pump has jammed. Look in the book for instructions on clearing pump blockage, may be that a coin or a hairpin is jamming the impeller.

the machine should still drain and spin the plumber had nothing to do with the machine not working sounds to me like an electrical problem not a plumbing problem. first thing i would do was check the switch timer on the machine those have a tendency to go out no matter how old it is

I think its the washing machine. My old one did this a few times. Make sure there is nothing trapped in the filter, and if not try the waste pipe as this can sometimes get clogged up.

Sounds like coincidence unless he blocked a common pipe. But then your bathroom wouldn't drain either.
Check to see if it will spin without water in, if it wont then its your washer.

if the machine is under a year old then get the manufacturer to come out and look at it under the guarentee, if no probelm found, then get back to plumber

when my washing machine wont drain its usually because there is a blockage in the waste pipe.
