It's an old saying. My mom always tells me that. It's true. Don't sit around just waiting for it to boil, do whatever and time will pass by in a flash.

I won't get too deeply into the mechanics and physics of it all, but there are a few simple steps that must be followed:
1) water must be inside the kettle
2) the kettle must be placed onto a very hot surface, such as a stove top. Any heat-control settings should be placed on "High".
3) you must NOT stand there and watch. You must be distracted for a few moments (talk on the phone, watch some TV, listen to the radio, etc) in order for the water to boil.
Follow these steps, and you'll have boiling water in no time.
