Both...In the summer the housework goes to hell and the garden looks beautiful.
In the winter I eat the delicious salsa we canned from the garden while I clean the house.
Working in a garden (either flower or vegetable) really gives you a chance to slow down and take a deep breath.

Why not both? My house is 3100sft and my yard is 2 acres. If I had to make a choice, I would say the big yard, because I could always add on to the house.

Hard to answer since we don't know what you "need". If it was my choice, it would be big house. I can always rent some garden space.
