Just tell her!
When I got mine, I put a pad on, came downstairs, and said "mom, I got my period". She had no problems with it.
Remember she too went through starting her period as well and had to go through the same thing you are going through.

Good morning i just tune in and i seen this question and i can't say how overwhelm i am to answer this question. I know that you are uncomfortable telling your mom about what has happened to you but it is ok. Go to her and sit her down and say " MOM THE DAY HAS COME THAT I'VE BECOME A WOMAN" . Then she is going to ask you what you mean by that and that's when you explain to her that you stated your cycle. I know that you are going to get a lot of lecture about boys and sex, but don't worry because that's what becoming a woman involve in she is just looking out for your best interest, she will take you shopping for the rite products, you'll will have lot's of fun don't worry you will be fine. CONGRATULATION.

I know this was women's question, but I have to put my input in. When my daughter started her mother was not at home. She had to inform me. WOW. I don't know who was more uncomfortable!!! I know her mom had already spoke to her about this day, but still. I just informed her it was natural, and ever thing was OK. So don't be embarrassed to talk to her. Remember she was in the same position at one point in her life. (hope I didn't intrude on the women's question)

Just go to her and tell her. She can help you pick out the right pads or tampons. You have to tell her. I know it's kinda scary but just do it. You'll feel better and she will be able to help and give you advice. Good Luck ;)

How did you tell your mom your first big secret? You have to try, you have to stick your neck out. You have to just trust that your mom will always love you, and trust that she knows that she can depend on you. If you trust her, then tell her, she may know something that will surprise you..
