I guess one is suppose to practice what they preach but I find it " feel good" sense in giving someone else a uplift to life. But, when it comes to myself, I don't always do as I say. Why is that? But, then again one said "do as I say, not as I do?"

What is the right perspective?

Sure, it's difficult to do the right things whether it's you yourself who said that or someone else advised you because most of the right things in life entails a whole lot of sacrifices. But, leadership is always most effective and efficient when done through example. How can you convince others that it's doable when you can't even do it yourself? "Easier said than done." That's why there's always this "battle" inside of us. Whether to do the right, difficult things or the easier, wrong ones which are very tempting most of the time. With constant practice, we can all overcome our vices someday.

A normal mentally balanced person can not be his own enemy,in spite of the sayings to the contrary. To 'Walk the Talk' is always difficult. When it comes to doing things which affect us personally, what weighs more on our minds are the possibilities of our decisions going wrong and taking the responsibility for the consequences there after.Quite natural and normal behavior. So what's the right perspective?Personality development is a vast subject but we can learn, train and practice it quite effectively. For a starter, try 'Decision-Matrix'.It will help you in fixing parameters to a problem or an issue, with relevant weight age to each and find a number of solutions with what we commonly call Pros and Cons for each. Now you can take a 'learned' decision with fair amount of knowledge about it's consequences,With that, you can be sure to' Walk the Talk' with more self confidence .All the best.

There's another saying that goes "Those who can't do, teach."

Just because I'm not always strong enough to follow my own good advice, doesn't mean that advice is any less good. Learn from my mistakes. You can't live long enough to make them all yourself.
