No they are Not connected, though it may appear to be so.Like, how are Light and Darkness,Passion and cruelty or Positive and Negative connected? Not at all,but appear to be so.The Cosmic Law states that there is a Neural state between all opposites or contrasts. There are people in our lives whom we neither love nor hate.If we say that when a loved one betrays us,we hate him, that is fine.Do we begin to love a person for any reason whom we hated? No really or that easily.Humans, being the product of Nature are bound by it 's laws, though we may think differently. But then, that is a seperate issue altogether.

Love and hate are the two most powerful emotions. The old saying of there is a fine line between love and hate is very true.

Because both are so strong. The more deeply you love someone, for one example, the more hurtful it is when things don't work out, thereby sometimes creating hate.
Another important and strong relationship is with parents. When they abuse or don't love you, that can create hate, too.

If one is heartbroken by the one they most loved, the easiest alterative is hate because they feel they lost much and they took everything from them. The alternative of an extreme positive feeling is its other negative feeling. The line between love and hate is finer than salt itself.

It is very easy to hate people you used to love but then they betrayed you, so you got hurt and hatred was the natural response.
"Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned." (William Congreve)
It's harder to hate complete strangers because you never loved them in the first place so you don't really care about them. You just don't like them...not hate them.
It's like a circle...you like somebody, then you love somebody, then you hate somebody then the circle ends and touches the "like" part and connects.
"Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule." (Buddha)
"It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not. (André Gide).

i believe you can only hate if you care. you can only be hurt if you care about someone. if you don't care you wont be bothered. that's why love can turn to hate so quickly.
