Then you see the people who work tirelessly to fight this evil by rescueing and rehomeing these animals and its great to see the animals going to good loving homes (people..) Why and how can anyone treat these innocent animals with such pain and hatred . These people are cold and evil and loveless. I actually feel sorry for them that they are so pathetic..

I often wish the punishment for these people could be the same as that which their pets have been subjected.
It makes me so angry at the pet owners and sad for the pets that I can't make a habit of watching shows like this.

I totally agree with you, I think the fact that animals are so vulnerable and innocent--makes those actions so horrible.
But you know what saddens me is not just those extreme acts of cruelty we see on TV, it is those animals I observe owned by everyday people, our neighbors, our classmates our friends and sometimes our family--whom seem to go without appropriate attention; or much less attention than they deserve. They have come to forget that our pets need much more than just food and shelter. I have seen pets just get ignored when they get a little older, and that breaks my heart as well.
Pet owners: remember to reach down and give your pets a few minutes each day to remind them you do love them!

Martin, perhaps man is the only animal who goes about harming his ecology endlessly. I think its the dark side of intelligence. Forget the illtreatment to animals - we harm our own species as well (of course we are animals too). It takes endless effort and time to save delicate flora and flona - and these are in turn destroyed in matter of seconds. Its a pain no doubt - but this will continue - there is little u can do abt it. I came across a quote

If it still rains, flowers bloom, birds sing, nature bestows us with good harvest - its not for those millions who are evil, but its for those thousands who are good.

Just imagine the paradise we would be in - if millions are good

I know exactly what you're talking about. I work at a humane society and hate seeing the animals that come to the shelter who have been abused or neglected. It seriously makes me ill. But then I get to see some of them make it out of here and into good homes with people that actually love them. I try to concentrate more on this type of outcome as opposed to the circumstances for their admission to the shelter.

The REASON they do it is because the animals can't fight back and the attacker can see the pain in another living creature (like he feels in himself). There's no excuse, obviously, but I can promise you the attackers were attacked by people they trusted in the past. They hurt so much inside on a daily basis the only "relief" is momentarily re-focusing the suffering away from them onto another living being. Sick, isn't it?

Abuses of any kind runs in chains that are very hard to stop they you can spot child abuse without even seeing a child and same goes for animal abuse you can spot animal abuse without even seeing an animal. Typically people are all around abusive. Yeah I hate it that why I dedicated over 600 hours in 2years to my local SPCA

The people who do it to the animals don't have hearts and they should have the same done to them. Let them see if they like it.
