The Best of 1990-2000 is probably the best U2 album to start with. This has some of their really greatest songs...Electrical Storm, Mysterious Ways, Gone, One, Staring at the Sun, The Hands that Built America, et cetera.
Secondly, The Joshua Tree is one of their best regular albums, with songs like Red Hill Mining Town, One Tree Hill, Trip Through Your Wires, Where the Streets Have No Name, and In God's Country.
Achtung Baby is also a frequent favourite album among U2 fans. These three should give you a great start to U2! Enjoy!

u2--- buy the 1980 - 1990 cd which has a gold front cover and a boy with a war helmet on. then the 1990- 2000 which is silver and has a bisson or water buffalo on it. only 2 u2 cds you`ll need. blink 182? enema of the state probably.

this is about blink, not so much u2. you should really start from their first album and work your way up to the latest. simple as that, here you can see how they emerged and then how they fell and what happened in between and after (like boxcar racer, transplants, plus44 and angels and airwaves) blink is awesome and their early albums are the best such as buddha, chechire cat, and flyswatter (if you can get that its rare).
