So far as Indian President is concerned, DO YOU HAVE ANY CHOICE OR PREFERENCE ?
There were so many Probable Candidates -
Hon President of India Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam(will not seek re-election)
Hon. Vice-President of India Mr. Bhairon Singh Shekhawat
Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde Union Power minister and promininant Dalit leader.
Mr Pranab Mukherjee (current external affairs minister)
Dr Karan Singh (diplomat and son of former king of J&K Raja Hari Singh )
Mr Somnath Chatterjee (current speaker of Lok Sabha)
Dr.Manmohan Singh The Current Honarable Prime Minister of India.
Mr C.Rangarajan (Former Reserve Bank Governor and Current Economic Advisor to Prime Minister)
Mr Jaswant Singh (former External affiars minster )
Mr Shivraj Patil (current Union Home minister)
Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy (IT major Infosys founder)
Mr Rahul Bajaj (Prominant Industrialist, Rajya Sabha MP amd grandson of freedom fighter Late Jamnalal Bajaj)
Dr Raghunath Mashelar (prominant scientist, scientific advisor to the PM and former chief of the CSIR)

Not one person with a criminal record should be the President of India and she has a criminal record!! If she deserves, I would say that Lady "POOJA" who walked semi nude in Gujarat to Popularity would make a better President of India!! I would say someone with a background like Dr. APJ Khalam need to be the President - be it a Woman too but with no tarnish in his/her whole life!!
In India are Women equal? India has had a woman Hitler Prime Minister and now We are thinking of a President too its great but does the West or the so called countries where women are supposed ot be Equal been given those privilages - have had a Woman Prez? I mean US, Italy, France?

President Post should not be wasted like this The pity in India is even though we vote for the Parliament and assembly election we do not have any saying for President Election. Political Games are ruling the Indian Government and we are all silent spectators of this game. God has to save our Country. Coming to our Election of President , Mrs.Patil is not at all a suitable woman to occupy such a honourable post which has been occupied by Dr.Radhakrishnan, Rajendra Prasad, our Abdul Kalam, Neelam Sanjivi Reddy, Venkataraman,V.V.Giri,Etc. It is my opinion Yours VRVRAO

Who deserves to be the President of India is decided by a different electoral college.
One group of electoral college says Mrs.Patel is fit and she is our official candidate.
Other group ,BJP, says Mr.Shekheweth is unfit to be it's official candidate. But he can be elected as an independent.
For a 3 times ex -chief minister and present Vice President, BJP do not sanction party ticket but asks all parties to cross vote as per conceous.Also it make complaints if some others decide to abstain as both candidates are unfit based on their conceous.
In this election mela who deserves what?

in India , any Tom **** and Harry deserve to be something in Power... when you look at the Amarmani Prpathis, Pappu Yadavs, and whole clan of theirs who get elected from jails and enjoy better facilits instead of punishment
So Ms Patil is not so bad... and what do you expect from the Politicians .. who are actually in Pitiable conditions then a normal man...
They have to say yes to Industries which are polluting the air water land... and they have to say yes to Green Peace Activists..
politicians have to inaugurate the factory of Condoms and also to attend the religious congress of Celibates...
Politicians have to say yes to Slaughter house who export beef and , they have also to attend Save Cow Movements
Politicians have to spread the message of brother hood amongs Hindus and Muslims and Politicians have to instigate riots of antimuslims to secure Hindu votes and viceversa
God is great ring master who runs this great circus.....

Your commentary is precisely opposite. Kalam does not have political heavy weight with him. Pratiba is an ideal rubber stamp and heavily on the component of sonia relatives. It became Kalam who stopped Sonia from transforming into PM (bringing up foreign places beginning and compelled manmohan to become the PM) and now that's the turn of Sonia to dam him from transforming into the President. Tit for tat - technocrat looses ultimately to the political genius
