Never splice an amplifier's RCA inputs directly to a speaker wire. You could damage the amplifier or the factory radio.
Most Sony amplifiers have "high-level" or "speaker-level" inputs; these can be connected to your factory speaker wiring. Otherwise, purchase a line-out converter. This is a device that connects to factory speaker wiring and uses transformers to generate a low-level output that can be connected to your amplifier's RCA jacks.

The easiest way is to go to Wal-Mart for a LOC(line ouput converter) for $17.77. All you do is follow the wiring for the speakers and connect them to the LOC the from the LOC RCA output to in the RCA input on the Amplifier. The from the amplifier to the speakers. The amplifier should go to the Battery and th ground should be grounded no more than 18"s from the amplifier. the amplifier remote can be wired to the fuse block to a switched power or wired straight but using a rocker panel switch to turn on and off the power. I hope this helps.

Splicing the RCA isn't a good idea. You will blow out your amp input. If there is no high input, I suggest you get a high input to low output converter. Follow the installation instructions on the converter and plug in the RCA accordingly. Good luck

You hook the power up to the battery and then hook the ground up to a bolt grounded to the vehicle. The remote wire is easiest to connect it to a fuse in the fusebox that cuts off when you turn off the ignition switch (i.e radio, windshield wipers). When it is time to hook up the RCA wire you need to splice one end and tap into your speakers with them and plug it into your amp.
