It has a bit of a stigma attached to it Re: normally supplied to poor credit raters - hence shops do not like to accept them as they fear non payment or some such hassle down the line.
There are 3 or 4 around with similar drawbacks....

The concept has been around for years, but it simply seems to be a fancy debit card. As payment of goods and services evolves, it may be that tradtional credit/debit cards will be phased out for an Electron-styled card. But I don't forsee this happening in the near future.

Because it is new and costly to establish in a retailer's system if it is not already present. Eventually,it will become more popular and less expensive to introduce to the retailers.
