Begin in a fighting stance. The kick is delivered with the rear leg in an arching (semi circular) or swinging motion that rises up and chops down. When you swing the leg (think of it as a knee strike and let the foot follow) the upper body should lean back in the opposite direction, the front foot should pivot. You strike with with your lower shin or the top of your foot. You can use the ball of your foot like stated above but that takes a precise shot. By using your shin, its a hard bone that hurts like hell if you strike with it, plus it allows a bigger striking surface, so if you should miss the knee you still will inflict some damage.

I'm a Karate teacher, I recommend you stop trying to learn over the net and get a real in person teacher.

I can explain to you the round house kick but without a teacher it doesn't help much.

It usually starts from a back stance.

You shift your weight forwards to the front leg while loading with your leg parallel to the floor, the kick comes around and kicks with the ball of the foot, optional pivot on the front foot or not, that is both pivoting and non-pivoting versions.

See I'll bet you are having hard time following that, get a good Sensei to instruct you right.

you have super flexibility! do no longer situation, you have merely greater a foul habit, the 1st step is being attentive to it. next slow your kicks down and kick decrease to re-prepare your self to lean back. it may be awkward in the beginning up however the base line is to bypass slow and kick waist point. as quickly as you start to experience solid, develop the top and velocity. on your question approximately capability, definite, you lose capability leaning to the area and you besides could divulge your self with the aid of being nearer on your opponent. i'm hoping this facilitates, solid success and prepare perplexing!
