Has anybody ACTUALLY tried it, NO BS, and they actually got a free PS3 or something?

I wouldn't get tempted by such an offer. Normally, these sites are run by unscrupulous companies that are not regulated by proffessional bodies such as MRS. If you read the small print, you will usually find that you have to either introduce others to the site and / or give permission for the company to collect and use your data in whatever way they like (sell to third parties etc.). After inviting friends and giving loads of time doing surveys, not only do you not get a PS3 but you also face the embarrassment of apologising to those friends that you introduced. Then there will be all the junk E-Mail, junk snail mail and junk telephone (sales) calls. Unless the PS3 is advertised as a prize given to the winner of a draw, avoid these sites. If you want honest and reliable companies, try You Gov and Valued Opinions. You Gov send a check when you have reached £50, I've now got over £40 towards my 4th check from them and Valued Opinions convert your cash value into Amazon vouchers, Tesco Gift Vouchers etc.

these surveys usually end up connecting to a site that wants alot of info about you which they use to get your bank info and ripp off your money or make you join a subscription based service that is a major pain to get out of thats will also take your money
