I want to see the beautiful blue ice and calving glaciers. Will I still be able to see the blue ice and all with either spots around on a Aug 22 cruise?

What you will see on your cruise is pretty much left to chance. I assume that your cruise is going to both glaciers and you cannot choose which you want to see. The glacial ice is really not that beautiful. It often has dirt mixed in with the ice. and what you see will depend in part of what is happening at the glacier on the days that you arrive. If there is too much ice floating around the ship may not be able to get very close. And when you do get close you have to hope that you are there long enough for a piece to fall off the glacier. The ice crackles as it melts and when a big chunk of the glacier falls off there is a noise. But you have to be paying attention as a piece can fall quickly and you miss it.

I agree with the above response about everything being up to chance. However, I got to see a beautiful blue iceberg several years ago on my Alaskan cruise. Regardless, the sights, sounds, and smells that you will be experiencing are unlike any other. It is truly amazing. I hope that you have the best of times.
