Yes Valerie Plame was a covert officer working in the field of weapons of mass destruction for the Bush administration.

It's a matter of Congressional record in her testimony before Congress ...confirmed by her superiors!!

Isn't this event possibly damaging the other officers and National Security?

Shouldn't the 'outer' be prosecuted?

I thought the President said that he would hold White House officials accountable for this?!?!

So none of you that answered understand what the consequences of being a compromised spy in another country can be?

THEY EXECUTE SPIES!!!!

This can jeopardize many in the agency!!!

None of you answered the question by the way you just rambled on about Libby and the Democrats!?!?!

There is a larger issue here!

Once again...we ask people to risk their lives and cut them loose and leave them flapping in the wind when it's convenient!

This behavior is shameful!!

One day I hope Bush & Co are made to answer for their crimes!!

Can we just lay this to bed?

Conspiracy theories are really annoying... especially when it involves the usual liberal Bush-bashing. Give it a rest.

By the way, ask your favorite buddy Bill Clinton about his pardons. Bush still hasn't even pardoned Libby by the way.

"On August 11, 1999, Clinton commuted the sentences of 16 members of FALN, a violent Puerto Rican nationalist group that set off 120 bombs in the United States mostly in New York City and Chicago, convicted for conspiracies to commit robbery, bomb-making, and sedition, as well as for firearms and explosives violations."

There were also the Edgar and Vonna Jo Gregory pardons (where it was alleged Clinton accepted money in exchange for the pardons), as well as the 140 pardons he gave on his final day in office (many of which were also very controversial).

By the way, you asked this same question yesterday. Stop asking dumb questions. You probably still have a Kerry/Edwards '04 bumper sticker on your hybrid hatchback. I'm sure you also believe in global warming too. I recommend you watch "The Great Global Warming Swindle". It was produced by the BBC. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3028847519933351566

It's almost certain that her entire network of contacts and snitches was compromised, including other covert analysts and Field Agents. Which means all of their contacts were also compromised. Somebody would have been really dense to miss a chance like that to find out who's been working with the CIA.

I gotta tell you. This ain't playing well in the International Snitch Community. Oddly enough, people who deal in State Secrets prefer to be discreet. Go figure.

The whole affair has harmed US intelligence capabilities worldwide. It's hard to get the straight dope when the people who have it don't want to be seen talking to you. You do get a lot more disinformation, because undercover agents for other countries and groups AREN'T afraid to be seen talking to you.

Whoever is behind the leak, not just the actual "outer" should be prosecuted only if it's inconvenient to something permanent to them on the QT.

They've done more damage to US Intelligence Interests than a hundred Al Queda operatives could.

She was not covert and the prosecutor knew that libby was not the one that gave her name out - but he was so pissed at libby from another case that he kept going with him until he got him on a lie. Gee - a lie. Since you are so into politics - what ever happend to that guy that stole some documents for Clinton. You know that guy that stuffed some papers into his shirt to keep Clinton from another darn criminal investigation after his impeachment!

Her immediate supervisor, yes. The documents showing the dates of her service undercover? NO! They were cleared. You want to try them twice? Usurp the courts? Condemn them after they were cleared?

Read the rest of the trail, not just the parts you want. We have enough political bigots on both sides here in Yahoo!
