Do they ever think about all those other gods and wonder if they've really chosen the right one? I mean, how could they know, right? What if they chose the wrong god and the wrong meaning to life? I think that, if I chose the wrong god, I'd be suicidal.

how can we not be depressed?
we have found a wonderful truth, and want to share it. but no
one wants to listen.
we have found a better kind of love, and yet they are happy with the two that they already know about.
and some of us have even make us crazy rule,
that they think that we have to follow, and want us to be like them.
and then there are those that fear us, because they are afraid we might be right.
those are the ones that call us, ignorant, stupid, brainwashed, and insane.
so if our God is not real, then why do so many try to prove that He does not exist?

There is only one God... LOL... and this question is childish, cause Christians are people and people sometimes get depressed... man how can people be so immature asking such questions, ask something mature ask something thinking...

Allah, God, (etc....) = the same God... only spelt different.

Catholics pray more to Maria. (they take the worst parts in life, and talk more about the Old Testament - past, death)

Orthodox to all equally. (they take the beautiful parts in life, and talk more about the New Testament - present, life)

but they pray to the same God; as for other religions as well; except those who say Jesus was only a prophet; but God is universal.

I am an Orthodox, though I am not a follower I do what I want, I read science and think it is true (some parts), the Bible (true), Anatomy, Psychology, etc.. many stuff as a person should know many things not to resume to only one.

edit: and man... we are not in mid-eve, we don`t have Gods like: please god of agriculture, send us water; then we go and kill a sheep for sacrifice..... lol.

If you are not happy within your faith then maybe it's time to look into another, there are so many different ways of life and understandings that Christanity is not the one real way. Myself I am pagan and it really is a wonderful way of being even though many would not think so but that is the fight that I am prepared to put up with. Its a path that you could read about just out of interest and you could be one of those people who actually have the facts before passing ill judgments upon us. But why not look into the ways of the Budist they have a great out look on life too. The world is your oister hun, be free to choose your own way and a whole new way of life will open up to you. Believe and follow your heart.

I'm sure they get depressed over the stuff that any other person gets depressed about. As to their chosen theology, it depresses me, from my vantage point of reason and clarity, to think that I was once there. I would say they probably do wonder sometimes whether they have chosen the right God, (I did) but I remember that they are taught that if you think such things, it is the VOICE OF THE DEVIL WORKING TO TAKE YOU AWAY FROM THE CHURCH so they pretty much try to banish such normal thoughts. They are afraid of losing their souls. If only they knew!

i got a little bit depressed when i converted, but that's because i had to make a few sacrifices. even though i knew my old ways were destructive at best, they were still familiar to me. i had to enter into a new and strange kind of lifestyle, and the whole thing was a bit overwhelming for me. it only lasted a few weeks though, and i've not been the least bit sad about ANYTHING since. nothing can hold me down now. it's incredible. in fact, i now thank God when the hard times come, instead of throwing a pity-party, because i know He will use my life's hardships to my benefit.

how do i know i picked the right God? besides there being only one, i just know. it's like when you fall in love- you just know. so i fell in love with God when i found out how in love He was with me.

this is a great question IWF... :)

I'm sure there are many Christians who get depressed, but no one can say what about. Yes we are spiritual, but we are also organic, and who can say what would trigger depression....

for myself - I am never depressed about whether or not I have chosen the "right" god, because as you know, I believe that I HAVE God, embodied by the Holy Spirit, in my heart. I know it would sound foreign, but that's me.:)

Sometimes I am marginally depressed by various situations in my life: finances, my health, my children's lives etc. But these are short lived. I can trust the Lord to bring me out of it AND help me to overcome it with practicality, humour and insight.

I get depressed, but it's because of crap that goes on in my life and my job. I do wonder about all the different religions, but seeing how I believe that everyone worships the same Entity but gives It different names and attributes, I don't get depressed about that. It's really funny how many people have a problem with that.

You miss the claim that the Spirit of God lives in us. How would we forget an experience like that? And those that tell us it's something else, how much more does that make us feel special that God chose us over them?

Yes, we still get depressed, but nothing like before. As long as we remember to trust Him, we have things like this: "If I were to make my bed in Hell, Thou would be there with me."

You really miss it, man. You really miss it.

Yes I get depressed. I have bipolar disorder so I get depressed quite frequently.

And I don't worry about choosing the wrong God...... none of the others are clearly revealed to me.

Yes I do get sad, depressed, angry, upset, heartbroken, and bitter at times. It is also the Lord who pulls me through it.

God Bless You.
God Be With You Always.
