Firefox is very stable and very reliable.
I have IE7 and Firefox on my work laptop and home PC. I have made Firefox the default because it has much better functionality.
There are no problems with either IE7 or Firefox in terms of reliability, although you will always get IT people who prefer one or the other.
Your question refers to e-mail - do you have a particular problem with google mail?
maybe you could phrase your question better and put in some more details about the actual problem, then we could help.

Firefox - very reliable :-)

I run Google as my default search engine and Mozilla as my default web browser, and both do the job very well! Plus, I merged my google bar with my Mozilla bar, so in my Mozilla there is a google search next to the address bar... most useful :)

R&S, fer cryin out loud!
And I Google ALL the time. . Firefox is OK, but I prefer IE7.

“You ask this on R&S because you have an earlier version OS with a bug in it. Please download the patch and you'll be OK. You are a malfunctioning unit.”
