It's good that you didn't give the dog a bath before applying the flea medication. The oils help to distribute the medication. I would wait at least a week. We Frontlined our dog a couple of days ago and of course the next day she was rolling all over in dirt and leaves with her dog buddies. Little stinker. I brushed her (avoiding the Frontline spot) and most of the dirt and debris came out.

Absolutely. I always sponge my females with warm water the day after they whelp. They seem to appreciate it as it makes them feel more comfortable. I do this daily as it stops them from becoming matted and smelly. Just make sure she is completely dry before she returns to her puppies. I just do the sponging because they don't like to be away from their puppies too long at this stage and are always anxious to return to them. You can still use a mild shampoo around that area when you sponge.
I give them a good bath about a week after whelping.

HI! I always gave my girls a quick wash with a wash cloth in warm water. They can get really funky! This is also a great time to clean the whelping box too. Change out any bedding and wash the whelping box with a mild detergent and rince it down and dry it. Just make sure you keep the pups warm and make sure mom is dry before you let her go back to the pups. They can catch a chill if mom is still damp. OK

Absolutley...she will feel better as well. Having puppies can be messy and it will make her feel better being clean. Good luck with your litter!
