Yea I think it was Sophlocles who once said 'We have not yet reached the human status' . This was of course before we evolved , and were still fish so it sounded more like 'oooogleoooooooooppoooooooollllooooggggph ooooooooooghoooooooroogoholloooos . So of course there is alwayd the chance something got lost in translation - he may have been saying 'look out - there a huge shark coming' which may also the question about humanitarian work being dangerous .
