Even though they claim it's still half the fat of a Big Mac, is that still too much food to consume in one sitting when you're trying to lose weight? I do love the Chicken Teriyaki and i don't get with with any cheese or mayo, but is it still too much food, or is it ok? I get it on whole wheat bread with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers. So it's still healthier than any burger, right?

too many calories at once.
to lose weight you have to eat 5-6 small meals a day so if you buy a foot long sub have half for lunch and another half in a couple of hours.

Healthiest Footlong At Subway

It's healthier than a burger, yes. However, I'd recommend cutting back to a 6 inch and add a large serving of veggies instead. For example, 16 oz of broccoli (1 pound) has 0 fat lots of fiber and only 150 calories.

If you really think about it your eating a foot of bread and meat covered in sugary sauce (teriyaki) in one sitting. A foot long teriyaki has 750 calories as opposed to 375 calories (6 inch) and veggies (150 calories). If you like the subs that much break the foot long into 2 meals and drink plenty of fluids with your 6 inch instead.

It is still healthier than a burger! What my friends and I have always done is buy a footlong and get lots of healthy vegetables like you said. The fact that you are avoiding condiments is extremely important. Then we eat half (slowly!) then wait for about twenty minutes. If we are still hungry, we eat the rest. More often than not, we are no longer hungry, and we save the rest for later. That way you consume much fewer calories overall. Try this technique, and don't feel guilty if you do end up eating the whole thing; it means your body needs that food. Just make sure you actually feel HUNGRY, not cravings.

Congratulations on trying to be healthy. You seem to be on the right track.

I say no. If you like condiments, like I do, you'll end up putting cheese, mustard, mayonnaise, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper on your sandwich. If you look at the nutritional info for Subway, it's usually for 6 inch sandwiches. So double everything on it, and start adding up the extras. The way I get my sandwich is just as bad or worse than other fast food. It might contain more nutritious ingredients than a Big Mac and fries, but the unhealthy stuff is there too, in equal or greater numbers.

If you want a footlong to be healthy, it has to be plain. Otherwise you're just fooling yourself.

Why not have a 6 inch sandwich instead??

Have a six inch turkey break sandwich on wheat with lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, pickles and olives (280 calories and 4.5 grams of fat)

Sup homie, your description fits me perfectly. I might be pushing 350lbs but besides that it is perfect. I am watching Rachael Ray bake a tray of chocolate chip cookies which look delicious. Here in Cuba we don't have subways, we have Cuban Cigars and wild taco bell dogs.. But I have heard that they are 5.00 but with tax depending on where you live they might be about 5.35

I agree. One-foot subway is way too big and you won't lose anything by eating it.
