Heres the definition of Gospel from Wikipedia:
---
Gospel, from the Old English god-spell "good tidings" is a calque of Greek εὐαγγέλιον (eu-angelion) used in the New Testament (see "Etymology" below).
In Christianity, the term gospel can be used to mean different things, including:
to denote the proclamation of God's saving activity in Jesus of Nazareth, or to denote the agape message proclaimed by Jesus of Nazareth: this is the original New Testament usage (for example Mark 1:14-15 or 1 Corinthians 15:1-9; see also Strong's G2098);
more popularly, the four canonical Gospels, which are attributed to the Four Evangelists (Gospel of Matthew, Gospel of Mark, Gospel of Luke and Gospel of John): the term "a reading from the Gospel" can refer to any of the 4 books;
other non-canonical works of antiquity that purport to quote Jesus (e.g., Gospel of Thomas);
a genre of Early Christian literature (cf. Peter Stuhlmacher, ed., Das Evangelium und die Evangelien, Tübingen 1983, also in English: The Gospel and the Gospels).

As far as the books of the Bible go.. They all have their place.
Like em all. They are all testiments to our Savior Jesus Christ. Good news is Good news......
But I do gravitate a bit towards Luke, then John.. then Matthew.. then Mark.

I would say Matthew just because of the name :)
It's hard to pick a "favorite." It's like asking who your favorite son is. Or, more realisticly, what your favorite movie is. It depends on the time.
Right now, I like John. I just like the different stories John offers and the very High Christology. Sometimes I have to go back to the Synoptics though and get a clearer image of Jesus, the person.

The Gospel of Common Sense..
That must have been deleted just like a lot of other Gospels that the Church or certain Kings who edited (bastardised) the Bible centuries ago, didn't like...

I like them all but I seem to go to John a lot when I need an answer for something, so I guess I'd say John. What's yours?
