How do people on here get away so easily with forcing their religious beliefs on everyone else, but when the liberals defend their stance, then they (the liberals) get penalized by Yahoo Answers for it?

We don't come and air our dirty laundry at your place, so why are you doing that to us? If you think that sex outside marriage or sex outside relationship is wrong, then fine - that is your opinion - but don't think that you are correct and then attack & pass remarks at people who don't think the same way as you do.

Yours is an opinion, ours is an opinion - in the end, neither of us is really correct.

You know the saying, "Opinions are like a**holes, everyone's got one".
Oh, by the way, I love Tom Cruise too...

The people who ask questions and answer questions do have their own opinions and viewpoints. I do not see Yahoo penalizing anyone for their particular views religious or otherwise.

People do air their dirty laundry from time to time and some people do pontificate that what their group thinks is right and what your group thinks is wrong. In a perfect word, these people would be more cordial in the presentation of their views and tone down the passion of their convictions. I do believe it wrong to attack and pass remarks at people using a sledge hammer and hacksaw just because they don't think that same way as you do.

My opinion is that Matt Lauer was not being glib. I think that John Travolta would have been a better and more articulate spokesperson which has nothing to do with Travolta being a better actor. Just my opinion.

Yes that's correct. But some people are just very defensive in their believes and only see their own believes over other belifs.

You can't stop this and it's better for everyone to know that everyone has a different view about everything. If we all are able to do this then stupid fights like that won't happen.

Because in most places that which is seen as the majority has the louder voice. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

And those with an open mind are less likely to attack than those whose minds are already shut to outside ideals.

you're right. but only to a certain degree. people shouldn't force their beliefs on to anyone.that would be wrong but the questions asks for anyone to answer. if i were to think that sex outside of marriage is wrong, and the question was "should i sleep with my bf?" i would answer no. because that's what i feel would be right
but the question calls for all points of view. if you don't want to get a certain kind of answer then ignore it. but i can see where your comeing from.

My gut reaction is that so-called 'religious oriented' people are insecure because they want to think that they and their ideas are infallible and any threat to that belief causes them to be defensive. They misread their fears and intolerance for 'strength.' More 'liberal' people accept the fallibility of and imperfection of human kind and are not so quick to condemn others in such thoughtless, uneducated terms.

I think because people who have religion forced on them dont complain as much as the people who have their beliefs attacked.

If a christian knocked on my door and asked me to join their cult, I would say Im not interested and that would be the end of it. If I went to a christains door and asked them to give up their religion, it would be chaos..
