Been going now for about 3 weeks (never stepped foot in one until then). At least 4 times a week. I don't do anything to hardcore as I am not really looking to lose a lot of weight, but somehow I have managed to put on about 3 pounds? I usually do 50 minutes on the eliptical machine and some really light weight training once a week. Also, as I am not looking to lose to much weight my diet has slightly improved, but it's pretty much still the same. I mean I figured I would have lost at least a couple of pounds by now?

you're probably gaining it in LEG muscle from the eliptical trainer.

You always gain weight when you first start working out because your building muscle and muscle weighs more that fat. But you will lose inches and eventually the weigh will start coming off. Keep at it and you will be thinner in no time.

Youre building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. So while you are losing inches your actual weight might be more. Net result is that you do look thinner though, regardless of the numbers.

Well maybe from getting tired you eat a bit more but mainly it's probably because you've put on some muscle and muscle weighs more than fat

you have gained muscle and lost some fat, probably retained some water as well which happens when you start exercising.
drink more water and do elliptical on lighter resistance - maybe do treadmill for a couple of days to mix them up and keep your body guessing.
keep exercising - you might drop like 5lbs suddenly.

you had some muscle gain by doing those kinds of exersises and some science says that by doing cardaic exersisses u can gain weigth because u get the crave 2 eat after and u can gain wiegth like that

Yeah i think i had the same problem but apperently you put on weight at first when you start before you lose it all

muscle weighs more than fat, so maybe youre building muscle. diet is also an essential part of trying to lose weight. maybe youre consuming more calories than you think.
