The phone company doesn't initiate the trace, the customer does, by dialing a * code, the one must used by phone companies is *57. Once the pranksters call you, then hang up the phone, pick it back up dial *57, then activates the Call Trace feature, after you have done this 3 different time, it then gets sent to The Annoyance Call Bureau who will start an investigation and will work with the authorities if need be, to stop the calls. The reason for 3 is that, they don't take this lightly and want to make sure the customer is serious about wanting an investigation started, where as many people do it, just to try and get others in trouble as a joke, in which they can get in trouble themselves. Trying doing *57, see if that is the code for your local phone company. Also most companies do charge a pay per use fee for doing it, but for my company the customer will get credited back if they initiate it 3 times as I mentioned. If nothing happens and you don't get a recording about call trace, then you will need to call your phone company on Monday. Having Caller ID with Anonymous call rejection can stop people from getting through to you without unblocking their number first, so you can see who is calling.

The best thing is to install an ID caller, and these phones are really getting cheap now. In case they forget to make themselves anonymous you will find out. However, notify the telephone company to track down the caller. The last resource is to change your number, which is quite a hassle.

Getting "privacy manager" will prevent nearly all prank calls. The caller cannot block the caller ID when privacy manager is on. They must either unblock it, or record their name before a connection is made. This will stop the prank calls.

Or in spite of, human beings get so annoyed with individuals attempting to sell stuff. or you should get yet another individual to assist yuo and fake which you're calling a chum and your daughter (your pal) needs to pass play alongside with your pal (the guy you're pranking)'s daughter. it truly works in case you're pal cries and fake's she's obnoxious and keeps going mummy am i able to talk on the telephone and all this different loopy stuff. me and my pal did it in like year 9 haha. I had this happen a while back. I reported it to the phone company who had me fill out a simple form. I had to notify them of the exact dates and times of each call.
The calls stopped within a week or so. Piece of cake!
