I have a friend in the navy, and i want to send him a later. But he's out at sea so i don't know how many stamps to put...

If he is in the Navy, you would use the same amount of stamps as if you were mailing it across town. You don't pay extra for postage to servicemen, just the standard US mail rates.

If you are in the US, you only need one 41 cent stamp, or one 39 stamp and 1 two cent stamp, the standard postage stamp used for letters sent anywhere in the US.

Domestic postage (as it will go to an FPO) 41 cents first ounce, 17 cents additional ounce

postage on a letter is not paid by how far it travels but by weight. one or two page letter = 1stamp

Why the h@*l's he in the Navy...he should have joined a real military branch of service...Don't send him anything via mail, in fact, write him out of the will...Unless he's a Marine and just doing his time on vessel...then he's OK...
