How could the founders of the Latter Day Saints claim to be Christians if they preached practices that go against the teachings of the Bible? How can anyone think that Mormonism is a Christian religion if they claim that God told Americans to commit bigamy?
"The New Testament says that marriage to another partner while the first partner is still living is adultery (Romans 7:1-3). No fornicator or adulterer shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9,10)."

Here is a photograph of the infamous bigamist, Brigham Young who reportedly had 51 wives against the law of God and the law of the land.

So Mormons, your Big Love was a Big Sin, as bigamy is adultery and contrary to Biblical teaching!
Did King David commit bigamy? Yes! Was it sanctioned by God? No!
Did God create Adam and Eve? Yes! Did God create Adam and Eves? No!
This was a lesson for LDS.

rlrose63,
You have the wrong idea!
You can choose to read this or not.
Don't be confused and think that I am preventing you from having more than one wife!

You should not speak out against polygamy. God has called some of us to live the Principle! In LDS we have a don't ask don't tell policy since polygamy is illegal. I myself feel called of God to live the Principle and have been LDS for over 30 years.
I plan to have at least 4 traditional LDS ladies as my wives but I would like 12 for the 12 tribes of Israel.
May God forgive you for talking bad about LDS and to my LDS brothers and sisters, many celestial wishes!

Hi friend. The phrase "modern Mormon polygamist" is a misnomer. Mormons do not practice polygamy. Even in cultures where polygamy is acceptable (some Muslim countries, for example), Mormons NEVER have more than one wife. Any member found to have more than one wife is excommunicated. Mormons believe polygamy is only acceptable on very rare occasions when God authorizes it (i.e. Abraham, Issac, Jacob, etc.). Otherwise, monogamy is the rule. (This is the message of Jacob 2:27-30 in the Book of Mormon.) Because God commanded Mormons to stop practicing polygamy in 1890, Mormons believe that modern-day polygamists are acting contrary to God's will. It is not that Mormons secretly want to practice polygamy but that the law/social norms/societal pressure prevent them. Mormons sincerely are not interested in practicing polygamy, because God has said it is no longer authorized. Those that practice polygamy in Utah and Arizona are not Mormons. They belong to separate religions (usually FLDS).

Bigamy refers to marrying without the first wife knowing. The Church doesn't teach that.
There are references to polygamy in the OT. Abraham is one example.
Polygamy is not a sin when commanded by the Lord.

Uh oh... I smell a preaching going on here... no question. Just a forcing of your views on others. Shame.
EDIT: Ooops... again with the booboo... I'm a woman, my friend, so I'd be a first wife.
Also, I'm an atheist and I don't care how many wives a man has... it doesn't affect me at all.
And I love the show "Big Love." Fills me with anxiety, but it's a fun show to watch.

The women of the church did not have men to help support them, and they could not have children. SO God told the Prophet at the time, that poligomy was ok for the time being, to help replenish the earth, and to help support the women. Then when it was all better and ok again he took it awayl Don't doubt the church, it is the true church and if you have questions talk to missionaries, they can help, its their job and they want to help others find the truth. The only reason women needed men to help them is because they did not have rights back then. Women now are treated equaly in the church so don't get ideas.

Nowhere is it a sin except that the Mormons hold themselves out to be law abiding citizens and that makes it a lie. Polygamy is never, and never has been a sin. Governments are not authorized to dictate to people what is moral-only what is illegal.
