When I was a little kid my mom told me satan and demons can come through mirrors. Now I dont believe it but I am scared of mirrors onces its dark. I have a mirror on the back of my dresser and glanced over and saw what looked like horns (turned out to be the back of another chair) and I froze in fear.
If I dont believe it why am I still affraid of mirriors when its dark?
And now I cant sleep :(

Wow. What a fun childhood you had. Me too. Go to the source of the fear and uproot it. In my mind, if Christianity and god are so good, then why did it eat me alive with fear, irrational insane fear? Fear of the dark, fear of Satan, fear of anything I didn't understand? The source of my fear was god, religion and the church. I'm quite normal now and I had to turn my back on everything to get that way and retain my sanity.

What a horrible thing to tell a child. God is infinitely more powerful than that evil angel could ever be, and would never allow him to hurt a human being directly. Besides, the devil's tactics so far are trying to convince humankind that he DOESN'T exist. Why would he come through mirrors and erase what he has already done. And keep in mind that evil cannot withstand the name of God. By the way, horns? The devil was the most beautiful angel in the heavens. Don't get swept away by the fear tactics of the Catholic church.

I am so sorry that your mother's words have caused you to be fearful. Satan doesn't need a mirror to enter a room. (hopefully that doesn't scare you even more) You know that God is always with you if you believe in Him. There is a blessing that says "May he keep you in the palm of His hand and in the shadow of His wings". Just think of yourself cuddled up in the palm of God's hand. Safe and protected. and Hopefully you can sleep.

Because the belief was given to you as a child by your parents, it is in your subconscious mind. All you can do is counteract it until it is no longer frightening. Every single time you think of it, tell yourself it's not true until that becomes an automatic response in your mind and eventually it will influence your belief. You can also tell yourself, whenever you think of it, that angels come through mirrors. : )

Satan and demons are just as real as God and Jesus, but they can not touch you if you ask for the lord to protect you, so next time this scares you try asking him for his angels to protect you and from experience you will suddenly feel the angels comfort, it worked for me

but that the mirror brings conciet to your eyes,
'look at myself, im so pretty,' kinda thing
and that is a route that the deciever uses to enter you...

Did you ever ask her why she would tell a little child such a terrible lie? I can't imagine doing that to a child.
