This drives me crazy!! My husband took me out for a date tonight and we went to see the taylor fireworks after a nice dinner! My mom watched the kids =] Anyways the taylor fireworks are held at the carnival....my husband and i walked around for a bit and got some delicious carnival food and i can't tell you how many young kids were walking around without adults! I mean 10 year olds...and i even saw two girls who were no older than 6 walking around alone! It was a madhouse at the carnival due to the fireworks and on top of that it is in a bad city at 10:30 at night! One 12 year old little girl was getting hit on my a carnival worker and i went over to her and pretended she was my daughter because she was crying and i helped her find her mom, but her mom never thanked me or even cared that much! Isn't that crazyy...i would never allow my kids to walk around alone that late at night there, i saw three fights ending in handcuffs! Does anyone else agree that these kids needed supervisio??

I can't imagine what people must be thinking - I don't even let my kids play unsupervised in our own yard (they are 4 and 5). Unspeakable things happen to kids these days, and to let them walk around a carnival so late at night is just asking for trouble!

as a mom of two young boys I get very upset about this too. I mean why on earth with all the kidnappings are parents still letting their young kids walk around like that. I have seen 6 year olds walking down the street alone. I have been to fairs where 8 year olds are walking around with no parental supervision. What the heck are these parents thinking, they are just advertising for their kids to be kidnapped. I think for most they just want their kids out of their hair and so they just let them go. Most don't want the arguments and I hate yous so they give in and let their kids run around like that. I am so sick of seeing little kids running around like teenagers doing what they want to do. I have seen parents drop off 8 year olds at the front door of walmart to let their kids shop and the parents leave or just park and stay in the car. Like they will know if the 8 year old is stealing or gets kidnapped. Really I think these parents need a major reality check. KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR KIDS PEOPLE.

i agree. and they are the first parents to say how could/did this happen when their child is kidnapped or raped or murdered while not in their charge/care.
we live in an age where all i can say is ...
we have a lazy society in place when it comes to parenting.
the law of least effort for a lot of people. we are too busy to care more for our kids and we wonder why our babies are having babies and getting hooked on booze and drugs younger and younger all the time.
i'm not even 30 yet and i hear myself saying "when i was their age"
kids are raised sooooo differently nowadays that i just shake my head and say god i worry about our countries future.

just take the time to be a parent!!!!!!!!!!! a good parent!
if you can't- don't have kids

I agree, I am sure, a lot of these kids spend a lot of time home alone, alone in front of the TV, the computer, maybe out in the street, at one point breaking in etc....

One of two reasons -- either total irresponsibility or those parents just don't care about their children.

Those parents are stupid for not supervising their kids.
