I'm going to be a senior in high school next year, and I like a guy who's going to the local community college next year. He's friends with a guy that I had a fling with. We've only been talking for a little bit, but he seems like a nice guy. I'd really like to get closer to him, but I don't know if the sudden interest in conversations would turn him off. Should I go for this guy? And if I should, how would you suggest I approach trying to talk to him?

Just keep the conversations short, sweet, and simple. Guys are not completely dumb to the fact that a girl is interested.
My advice to you, let him pursue you. If he is interested he will.

If I were you, I would focus more on my studies....rather than on guys! I know its normal for your age...but I've been through that, and if I have a chance to go back, I would devote my time more on my studies. Your life in the future will depend on what you do now...so, better set your priorities

Talk to him like you would talk to any other person. Get to now him, get comfortable with him, then start flirting with him, see how he responds, if you think he is up for it then tell him that you liek him, if you do not get that vibe from him then just take him as a friend.

It's really easy: find out what he's passionate about, learn about it, and use that as your intro. With the Web, you can find out about ANYTHING!!!! Learn enough to ask a smart question and then just shut up and let him sell himself on how damn smart you are.
