Well I own an SKS, it is very reliable and there is no way in hell that I can or want to convert it to full auto.

I wouldn't recommend it, but you can slam fire.

Well, here's a good way. Neglect your SKS until a lot of carbon residue is in there. Then get 10 rounds of crappy ammunition, with unstable primers.

Then just slam the butt of the gun in a wall behind you and hold on tight because all 10 rounds are going to fire without the pull of the trigger until it's empty.

The SKS has a free-floating firing pin that makes it more susceptible to slam fires if you neglect it.

The SKS was manufactured as a semi-auto weapon only. You pull the trigger for each shot. In military configuration the AK-47 could be fired semi-auto or full auto depending on where the selecter switch was set.

I have a Yugo SKS which I love to death. It's a well made gun, the fixed baynet kicks ***, and it's actually more accuarte than my AK, but I'm sorry to say thst the SKS is pretty much limited to Semi-Auto only. Ofcourse I'm not sure why anyone would want to convert a 10 round rifle to Full-Auto anyway. You'd spend more time loading then you would shooting!

The Chinese SKS 7.62X39 caliber rifle is a semi-automatic rifle and not a machine gun. A semi-automatic means that each time you squeeze the trigger it fires a single bullet. A machine gun fires multiple shots with a single squeeze of the trigger until the magazine is empty

what you are asking makes sense. you want to know whether the Sks is capable of automatic fire. Not in its original configuration no. It is designed as a semi-auto, in other words you pull the trigger for every shot.

however a lot of semi-autos can be simply modified for automatic fire. Not sure what it entails with the SKS or whether it would be practical since auto rifles are not my area of expertise but I imagine it could be done.

I think what we call an SKK here would be a better idea since it uses large detatchable magazines. One empties and you take it off and put on a full one, recock and keep firing.

What I know as an actual SKS has a 'fixed magazine', in other words the magazine has to be reloaded whilst remaining attatched to the gun.

yeah when you pull the trigger for every shot its called semiautomatic but when you pull the trigger once and leave it pressed then you have a fullyautomatic rifle but since i think you have no class III licence then i bet your asking about a semi so yeah i think you do.
