Yes, that's about right. Although you should still consult Edmunds or Bluebook on an approximate value considering it's age and wear and tear. I also drive a 2000 Jetta (not a turbo) which came fully loaded with leather, moonroof, monsoon system, and CD changer which I purchased 14 months ago for $6000. An airbag light usually means nothing but it should be investigated before you make a purchase. VWs are some of the best engineered cars there are. Mine has 160,000 miles on it and it still drives amazingly well. They just need to be properly maintained and they will never let you down. Definitley consider the car.

That is a little high man, If it needs body and interior work it's not worth it. Every VW I have owned I never spent over a grand for it. Look dude my step dad bought a 95 Golf lll for $400 about three years ago. In perfect shape and he is still driving it. All we have ever done is a clutch and water pump change. that is the only major thing we have had to do. He has had it for 3 years. We bought a 97 Golf GTI for $600 in the JUNKYARD. We put a hood two fenders radiator support and sold it for 2 grand. You can find good VW's for cheap, you just have to get out and really look for them.

You should check out Kelley Blue Book. I always go on there to check out what the value of my cars are. I did a quick check to see how much you could get for yours.
Trade In: about $3000
Private Party: about $5100
Suggested Price is $8000
I would go for Private Party or even ask for $4700. Also take whatever the repair would be for the airbag off of the $5100 and that could be your price. Good Luck hope you liked your VW

Dont do it, its too expensive, you wouldnt get much from it. I own a GLi 1.8T and i can easily get 300 HP for less money then just putting a Turbo in a N/A car. if u want a Turbo buy a 1.8T jetta, or if u want power get the VR6

It should be worth MORe than that !Use CARGURUS or EDMONDS car evaluations for REAL worth of car! FIX interior issue and advertise on CARS.com or other place like YAHOO.cars, etc! GOOD LUCK to you! CAR VALUE will drop if a REAL VW person s=checks it over and finds that you EVER used VALVOLINE or other IMPROPER OIL IN IT! The numbers 502 and 505 MUST appear on the OIL YOU ARE USING IN IT! This means MOBIL 0W-40, or RAVENOL or PENTOSYNTH or PENnZOIL ULTRA EURO! I would go for about $7kk on this thing! BYE NOW!

no that car is not worth that much ,for 5 k it should be about perfect, they way over priced that one,it sounds more like its something to work on rather than drive, for 5k you can find a lot better deal on a car, there's lots of cars on the market, and you have the one thing they all want, and that is money, shop right and you can get a real good deal on a car,and a newer car also, good luck hope this helps.
