Which hand do you put the engagement ring on?

In the United States, the engagement ring goes on the left hand, the woman is also supposed to walk and sit on the left side of the man (1. to show the ring & show she is "taken" & 2. to protect the woman, i.e. she is on the inside of the sidewalk if she is on the left side)

In European countries they tend to wear them on the right hand & wear the wedding ring on the left once they are married.

The left hand. It is the same hand as the wedding band. You can also get a set of ring, a set with an engagement ring and a wedding band. Some women like to wear both together on a daily basis and if they are a set they look better. Make sure you get the correct size. Don't make it obvious that you are going to propose though.

Left hand 3rd finger until the ceremony then right hand until the band is in place on the left hand 3rd finger, then the engagement ring. I had mine welded together before the ceremony so they would come apart and "spin" on my finger.
