I agree with the everyone above mostly, but dogs eat grass for many reasons. Some dogs like it and some just eat anything. When the barbs irritate their stomach lining they throw up. It's pretty common.
There are several types of grass. I noticed that my dog would eat a particular type of grass when he wanted to stimulate a bowel movement, another type (much smoother) when he was lacking fiber or certain nutrients in his diet, and still a different grass patch (with lots of barbs) was to stimulate vomiting when his stomach was upset and he wanted to throw up. Once he threw up foam and grass repeatedly for days, but the vet did not kmow what was wrong. Just before we were going to have to do exploratory surgery, he threw up a huge wad of rinse and re-use paper towels that was blocking his digestive track.
Maybe yours just randomly ate grass and it didn't agree with him. Then he'll be fine. However if it continues, you need to see a vet to find out why his stomach is upset. If you notice any blood in his vomit or he won't eat, you need to see a vet immediately. Best wishes!

Some say (including vets) that eating grass is okay while others say they shouldn't. From my own personal experience with my RRidgeback, she sometimes eats grass and nothing happens. Other times she'll eat grass and throw up the grass and her food. The last time she did it was after I fed her 1/4 of a brat. RR's can not tolerate pork so she ate grass and got rid of it.

After she throws up I wait until her next feeding time and then I give her 1/2 a cup of boiled white minute rice and 1 to 2 ounces of boiled chicken or hamburger (if I have some yogurt I place 2 or 3 teaspoons with the food). If she throws that up, then I contact the vet - it could be something more serious than an upset stomach. If she holds that down, then the next feeding I give her regular food.

Most of the time, don't worry about it, but if it goes to a second day, I'd be very concerned and call the vet for their advice.

I hope this helps you.

When dogs eat grass they tend to throw up. don't know why exactly, but unless your dog keeps throwing up, I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep an eye on your dog and here's something to keep in mind when your dog has an upset stomach or diarrhea. Don't give them Pepto Bismol because most dogs HATE it. Just get them some Pumpkin Pie Filling from the grocery store. It settles their stomach and stops the diarrhea with no side effects, they love the taste and it is cheap and healthy for them!
If the dog vomits any blood or has diarrhea with blood- Vet immediately! Pumpkin Pie filling is not a cure for a dog disease that causes diarrhea and vomiting but is excellent when changing foods, or if the dog eats something that doesn't agree with him or has an upset stomach, had too many sights, smells and tastes at a dog park..

Your dog is most likely okay, that is pretty normal. Dogs eat grass when they have a tummy ache because the grass will help them throw up. The reason your dog is throwing up foam is because his or her tummy is empty. Like I said, that is normal, but if your pup isn't feeling better in a few days I would suggest you take him or her to see their vet.. just to be safe. I hope your dog is feeling better soon! Good luck! : )

Doggie organic treatment! should not be of lots subject except he certainly starts off vomiting nutrition and water a variety of situations. Then it ought to point a vet problem, ate something he quite would not have.

Dogs eat greens like we eat salads. It's just sometimes it doesn't agree & up it comes. You're dog should be fine. It's an old wive's tale that dogs eat grass when their stomachs are upset but some just like grass. Don't worry.

Stop worrying about it. Outdoor dogs do that sort of thing fairly frequently. I've heard that it's a way to clean toxins out of a dogs system- but I don't know for sure. Your dog is fine.
