A helluva lot more peaceful. There would be more understanding between people of differing cultures. More creativity, more education. Virtually no sex crimes. Great scientific and medical advances, with the sciences unencumbered by superstitious zealots in charge of the purse strings.
It would be nothing less than the golden age of mankind.

There was a very interesting episode of South Park about this. I don't remember what exactly happened, but something happened that converted the whole world to atheism. Everyone that that it would mean the end to hate and war. Well, as it turns out on this episode, the atheists started debating what kind of atheists they were, and eventually went to war.
Religion is not what causes war and hatred. Intolerance causes these things. In the absence of religion, something else will rush in to fill the vacuum.

It will never happen. People will always have a belief system into the unknown. We don't know what will happen when we die so there will be religions that crop up over that. There is no way to disprove a god/gods so there will be religions around that. The better option is to get people to live in peace with other religions. I'm not sure that is possible either but it's a hope of mine.

The world will never be rid of the scourge that is religion. We will forever kill those that don't follow our ways. Those that swear that Christ is the savior of man need to take a look over the last 2000 years and see what percentage of the deaths in those 2000 years were executed in his (or Gods) name...
