"He that saith, I know him and keepeth not his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him" 1 John 2:4

The ten commandments are not part of the cerimonial law. The cerimonial law was placed on the side of the ark as the remedy for a transgression of the 10 commandment law which was written by the finger of God and placed inside the ark.

The 7th day sabbath was a ceremonial law, it was completed at the cross along with all the other ceremonial laws such as burnt offerings and blood sacrifices. Also, when Christ was raised on that Sunday morning, a new era of Sabbaths began, namely the Sunday sabbath, which is now part of God's moral law, and as God's holy day is to be observed to do the work of spreading the Gospel.

Ah, but I think this was refering to the commandments of Jesus...Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. Jesus claimed this was the "new covenant" (suggesting that the old one involving the 10 commandments) was no longer valid.

But this doesn't mean the 10 commandments aren't useful...the fourth one is important because God made us and he knows that we need rest to function.
