You know, I agree with you. Human capabilities in most of us are barely tapped if that. Mutation occurs all the time, especially in species which use sexual reproduction rather than asexual techniques like some single celled life forms do... Evolution is faster with mutations, which increase diversity, and (sometimes) the possibility of survival and reproduction.
This is JUST as the Flying Spaghetti Monster designed life.
