You bet!!! And I did it successfully too (or should I say we did -- I was helped by 3 or 4 other kids). A really young priest took a group of us kids out regularly on outings, at least once every month or so, to go fishing, or to places like the amusement park, bowling alley, the movies, baseball games (hockey & basketball too), and yes, the community pool, in addition to the times we just hung out at the school. Back then, they would simply call it a youth group, but nowadays I also hear it called a number of different terms: like CYA (Catholic Youth Alliance, and Catholic Young Adults) & CYO (Catholic Youth Organization).
OK, so we were set to go swimming one beautiful Saturday morning, and shortly after Fr. John arrived poolside, he made the mistake of walking "too close" to the side of the pool and we just steamrolled him into the water! We had a blast that day (and every day, actually). Thanks for asking that question, it brought back some very fond memories for me!
Now, let me ask one. Why, are you planning to dunk your parish priest? Good luck, remember they were kids once too & know what you are up to! Have fun & God Bless!!!

Yes actually - well, not exactly a pool. When I was an adolescent, the young priest in charge of our youth group was a great guy. We had a couple of trips to the lake, complete with a game of "king of the raft". He usually succeeded in pushing most of us off the raft before we ganged up on him and managed to push him off.

Had the chance but turned it down. It was an outdoor fishpond. He was a very fine priest with all of the traits anyone could ask in a priest. I shall never forget Fr. John.

No but I stole the beer out of his fishing boat. God forgave me even for that. It would do some stiffnecked priest to take a dive anyway. If they drown they aren't witches.

No i can't say i have..... oh... & never, ever, ask one in a restaurant if you can 'push his stool in' or if your a young boy don't ask him to push your stool in.
